The Hydraforce 5111184 (5111184) is a solenoid operated, pressure compensated, spool type, normally closed, priority type proportional flow control regulator. This versatile valve can also function as a restrictive type, 2-way, pressure compensated proportional flow regulator when port 2 is blocked. It operates by regulating priority flow out of port 3 from inlet flow at port 1, with the flow rate being proportional to the current applied to the solenoid. Excessive flow bypasses through port 2 and can be utilized for auxiliary function control. It is important to avoid dead heading of the priority line by external valving to prevent blocking of the bypass line. In restrictive mode applications where bypass port 2 is blocked, the flow rate out of port 3 remains proportional to the solenoid current regardless of load pressure at port 3.
