The Hydraforce EV16-S34-0-V-40 (5283207) is a high-performance, screw-in, cartridge-style hydraulic directional element designed for precision control in hydraulic systems. This valve operates as a spring-biased blocking valve with an internal pilot orifice and shifts to allow full flow from port 1 to port 2 only when port 3 is vented, creating a pressure drop across the internal orifice that exceeds the bias spring's pressure. It is specifically noted that an orifice disc should not be used with this product.
This model offers multiple application potentials with features such as smooth shift transition and low-pressure drop, making it suitable for various hydraulic applications requiring reliable directional control. The EV16-S34-0-V-40 can handle a pressure rating up to 241 bar (3500 psi) and supports a flow rate of up to 189 lpm (50 gpm). It has options for manual override for bias springs rated at 40, 90, 110, 160, and 240 psi.
Additional design enhancements include tall cap versions to accommodate higher bias springs and extra tall caps for the highest spring option of 240 psi. The G metering option is available for metered flow control upon opening. Its compatibility with industry-common cavity VC16S3 allows ease of installation without orientation restrictions and requires a cartridge installation torque between 62.4 to 73.2 Nm.
The valve works effectively within a broad range of operating temperatures depending on the seal material: -40 to +100°C with Buna N seals, -26 to +204°C with Fluorocarbon seals, and -54 to +107°C with Polyurethane seals. It supports mineral-based or synthetic hydraulic fluids within a viscosity range of 7.4 to 420 cSt and can operate up to a maximum contamination level of ISO code 20/18/14 per ISO 4406 standards. The unit weight varies based on configuration but ranges from approximately 0.29 kg (0.63 lb) up to about 0.86 kg (1.90 lb).
