The Hydraforce 5040888 (5040888) is a solenoid-operated, 2-way, normally closed, poppet-type, screw-in hydraulic cartridge valve. This valve is specifically designed to function as a load-holding or blocking valve in systems that require low internal leakage. The operation of the 5040888 allows it to act as a check valve when de-energized, permitting flow from port 1 to port 2, while effectively blocking flow in the reverse direction. Upon energization, the poppet lifts to open the flow path from port 1 to port 2; however, in this mode, flow from port 2 to port 1 is severely restricted.
Key features of the Hydraforce 5040888 include a continuous-duty rated coil and a hardened seat which ensures long life and minimal leakage. The unit offers optional coil voltages and terminations to accommodate diverse system requirements. Its efficient wet-armature construction along with voltage interchangeable cartridges enhances its versatility and utility in various hydraulic setups. Additionally, the unitized, molded coil design contributes to its robustness and reliability.
An optional manual override provides added operational flexibility. For environments demanding higher protection against moisture ingress, there are optional waterproof E-Coils available that are rated up to IP69K. Lastly, its cavity design is cost-effective, making it a practical choice for various hydraulic applications requiring dependable load holding or blocking capabilities.
