This normally open valve facilitates flow from port 2 to port 1 when de-energized; however, flow from port 1 to port 2 is significantly restricted under these conditions. Upon energization, the valve’s poppet seals against its seat effectively blocking flow from port 2 to port 1. To enable flow from port 1 to port 2 when the valve is energized, a pressure ranging between 50 to 150 psi (3.4 to 10.3 bar) is required to overcome the solenoid force.
