The Hydraforce 5021024 (5021024) is a solenoid-operated, 2-way, piloted, poppet-type, normally open, screw-in hydraulic cartridge valve that excels in low leakage load-holding applications. This valve operates by allowing flow from port 2 to port 1 when de-energized; however, flow from port 1 to port 2 is considerably restricted under these conditions. Once energized, the valve's poppet closes against its seat effectively blocking flow from port 2 to port 1. At this stage, flow from port 1 to port 2 can occur once the solenoid force of between 50 to 150 psi (3.4 to 10.3 bar) is overcome.
