The Hydraforce 5610408.M140 (5610408.M140) is a screw-in, cartridge-style, direct-acting, poppet-type hydraulic relief valve designed for pressure limiting in hydraulic circuits. This valve is suitable for mineral-based or synthetic hydraulic fluids with lubricating properties. It functions by blocking flow from port 1 to port 2 until the pressure at port 1 exceeds a threshold, prompting the poppet to unseat and allow flow. The RV10-20X model offers rapid response to load changes and maintains low internal leakage, making it effective for typical hydraulic circuit protection. While this model is reliable, users are encouraged to consider newer alternatives like the RVD58-20 for enhanced performance characteristics such as better pressure rise and comparable response rates in a smaller form factor. The corrosion-resistant version GRV10-20 is not recommended for crossover applications.
