The Hydraforce 5600402.06.8 (Material Number: 5600402.06.8) is a direct-acting, poppet-type hydraulic relief valve designed for applications in lower flow circuits where minimal internal leakage is essential. This screw-in, cartridge-style valve, known as the RV08-20X, functions by blocking flow from port 1 to port 2 until the pressure at port 1 surpasses a specific threshold, causing the spring-opposed poppet to unseat. The design ensures that adjustments cannot be inadvertently backed out of the valve, and it offers various pressure adjustment options including non-adjustable factory presets along with options A, B, and C that feature positive stops to prevent springs from becoming solid. The valve supports optional spring ranges up to 248 bar (3600 psi) and provides rapid response to pressure changes. For applications requiring bi-directional pressure management, an optional bi-directional pressure seal can be incorporated. Its compact size makes it suitable for space-constrained environments. While this model serves existing and new applications effectively, it is noted that the RVD58-20 is considered a superior alternative due to its comparable pressure and flow ratings, enhanced response rate, better pressure rise characteristics, smaller size, and competitive cost structure. However, implementing the VC08-2B cavity variation may be necessary for certain manifolds to allow drop-in replacement with this newer model.
