The Bosch Rexroth 4WE 6 U12-6X/EW110N9DAL (R900931175) is a high-performance directional control valve designed for managing the flow and direction of hydraulic fluids within a system. This solenoid-operated directional spool valve is integral to hydraulic systems where precise control of start, stop, and flow direction is required. It features a robust housing, one or two electromagnets for actuation, a movable control spool, and return springs that hold the spool in its initial position when not energized. The valve can be manually operated with an auxiliary actuation mechanism in the absence of electrical power. It is designed to work efficiently with a 3- or 4-way configuration and conforms to ISO standards for porting patterns. The high-power solenoid can be optionally rotated by 90 degrees for flexibility in installation, and it offers electric connections as either single or central connections. For applications requiring additional safety measures, this model includes optional spool position monitoring and adheres to CE conformity standards under the Low-Voltage Directive of the EU for electrical voltages greater than 50 VAC or 75 VDC. Additionally, the solenoid coil comes with an approved component UR marking according to UL standard edition and has an optional CSA C22.2 No. approval. In terms of energy efficiency, this valve variant without spring return (O) allows for energy savings by omitting continuous current supply when equipped with detent (OF), as the control spool remains fixed in its position until actively changed. However, users must consider internal leakage inherent in such valves which may increase over time. Lastly, special attention must be given when using this valve in systems prone to pressure peaks that could cause unintended spool movements if multiple valves share a common drain line; separate return lines or check valves are recommended solutions. A throttle insert may also be required under certain operating conditions where flow during switching exceeds the valve's performance limits.
